Yup. And it isn’t even just about the rookie contract. It also means he will get his second contract (which will be huge if he plays as well as he is projected.) a year earlier.
As a Buckeye fan who would selfishly looove to see him in scarlet and grey for one more year, it would be foolish of him to return to school. Make your money man…don’t worry about the bowl game…get ready for your next chapter.
Maybe a transfer QB comes in, maybe McCord makes some strides, maybe Brown or Kienholz step it up… but one thing for certain is that defense is going to take a big step back next year. Most of the defensive line will be gone to play on Sundays. The offense could be better next year, but overall I kind of doubt the whole squad will be. Personally I think we overperformed this year at 11-1 so far.
I know it’s silly and he’s 100% leaving for the draft anyway but yeah, would make no sense for him to return. Get the bag, Marv.
As a Michigan fan: do you think you think you guys will win a game against us this century? It’s pretty sad at this point, every single year just automatic loss last game of the season.
Some solid U of M math there. You’ve won 6 of 23 games this century (0.260) and somehow think a 3 game winning streak means you’re never going to lose again.
Of course but his dad playing in the NFL means he has first hand knowledge of how important and financially smart it is to go when you’re ready, and he’s ready.
Look at the tragedies like Jake Butt, generational talent at TE, guaranteed to go in the first round, gets injured and losses possibly tens of millions of dollars and never really made an impact in the NFL.
One freak injury in college and you lose everything, with his draft position you go, and any advice saying otherwise including OSU coaches is bad advice.
Mi remember Calipari at Kentucky openly saying he supports players to go pro if they’re ready and to go get that bag, and more importantly invest wisely and don’t lose it.
I mean NIL exists now, if he can get some insane and desperate Ohio State boosters (if he’s smart he can secure these deals in the next week or two) to pay him upwards of 15-20 million for a season that will put less wear and tear on his body he would be insane not to stay (also commercial money being the GUY in college vs one of many in the NFL) it might be insane not to stay
Him and Jalen Smith were the first two big names to get hurt in bowl games when opting out first became a thing, so they’re the usual examples for that. I believe Fournette and Mccaffery sat out, and Butt and Smith both had career altering injuries the same season so a big deal of discussion was had about it.
There is still a ton separating Reagor from MHJ though. Harrison has all the measurables and has been almost the consensus best WR in college for the last two years and plays for a top college program. I don’t remember Reagor ever getting the same level of national accolades/recognition in college nor is he built the same way MHJ is.
What does a top5 pick make, roundabout $30-35m/4years?
Yeah, no chance he turns that down.
Yup. And it isn’t even just about the rookie contract. It also means he will get his second contract (which will be huge if he plays as well as he is projected.) a year earlier.
Will Ohio state match that contracts 🤔
Could be right but he has a strong alliance to QB McCord and they double team him so he doesnt get that many touches really…
If he does play, or any NFL bound players, they will get extra Buckeye Nation attention over their lives…

Haven’t they already won like 17 of the games against you this century?
Some solid U of M math there. You’ve won 6 of 23 games this century (0.260) and somehow think a 3 game winning streak means you’re never going to lose again.
Probably just a Walmart Wolverine. They don’t know better.
Yeah, but he might get drafted by the Bears…
The bigger thing is he gets one more prime year of ufa dollars. If he’s as good as hyped that’s $25-30 a year.
I mean NIL money can get pretty crazy lol
Not top 5 in the draft money followed by 20 million+ per year on his second contract
The dude’s dad also played in the NFL so it’s not like he’d be struggling for money regardless. Still think he comes out, though
Michael Sam would like a word with your wording
Of course but his dad playing in the NFL means he has first hand knowledge of how important and financially smart it is to go when you’re ready, and he’s ready.
Eh Marvin Harrison was not a well adjusted Player. He was a gang banger.
Fuck outta here with your racism
Marvin Harrison has been involved in multiple shootouts and allegedly killed a man or gave the order. He’s not a good guy

He doesn’t even need to look past this afternoon for that type of story when he watched Zinter get carted off the field and straight to the hospital.
Jake butt was a generational talent? Get the fuck out of here 😂
Jake Butt did get his Charmin endorsement money though.
Gets injured in a bowl game, I believe. Right around the time some others were getting chided for sitting out of bowl games.
Yeah I can safely say he isn’t getting 20 million in NIL lol
Jake Butt was not a generational talent lmao
“Generational talent” is one of those phrases we need to exile from football. It’s used so often it’s become meaningless.
Yup. Outside of guys like Donald it’s pretty tough to say.
Donald was not a generational prospect though.
Just curious, but why put of every example available did you land on Jake Butt?
Because it’s fun to mention that Jake Butt was a Tight End.
Him and Jalen Smith were the first two big names to get hurt in bowl games when opting out first became a thing, so they’re the usual examples for that. I believe Fournette and Mccaffery sat out, and Butt and Smith both had career altering injuries the same season so a big deal of discussion was had about it.
How could it fumble?
Generational talent? LOL
Definitely not, but he was an all-American and two time B1G tight end of the year.
He was definitely a good prospect. But in no way generational.
Thank you lol wtf
I love Jake, but he ain’t no Brock
Jalen Reagor would have a word. He has no idea what it takes to play in the NFL or how to handle himself or his financials.
Well TIL he is a NFL “legacy.”

Don’t understand this take, if your dad was rich, do you really not care if you have a good career and make your own money?
I don’t know, Ohio State has some pretty good dining halls.
(I still miss the chicken wraps from the Marketplace)
