I brought this up a couple of days ago stating that we don’t know how much power Kevin Warren has and was laughed at. I thought he only had control over the management (stadium, revenue being brought in, etc) side of the bears, but maybe not. Thoughts?

If the old adage is true and you need at least 3 years to evaluate a draft, how can anyone say whether or not Poles has been successful?

Sure, he’s made some clear mistakes, namely Chase Claypool, but anyone that comes in here will make a bad move at some point.

Personally, I think Poles has the right approach to building a team and should be given time. The man had nothing to work with when he took over and spent the last 2 years trying to rebuild his draft capital. It would honestly be reason scummy to can him right as he restocked the picks.

You dont need 3 years to judge a draft and you really dont need 3 years to judge the process. He used his first 3 picks on low-value positions in his first draft and passed on Pickens twice. That is bad process even if he hit on all 3 but he didn’t.

I think poles has done a good good drafting as well as signing good talents without breaking the bank. Opinions?

Firing Poles this early in his tenure with the promise he’s shown so far with his overall decision making would be a huge mistake imo.

Warren needs to sit down with Poles after season and say this. “Fire Eberflous and clean coaching staff… you have 2 more seasons to get to .500 or you are gone”

If they go this route, please for the fucking love of God hire a GM first. and let the GM hire the head coach.

These things are predictable and consistently happened to the bears because of the way they hire people. And almost every other franchise they fire everybody all at once start from the top work your way down. But for some reason the bears like to hire new GM’S after the the coach is pretty much picked.

Or in this case they hire a rookie GM who was given information/ encouraged by the owners and that panel of specialist they set up to hire flus.

Then they hire a president of operations who had no say in hiring these two guys, yet now reportedly wants to be more involved in football operations

This is such a cluster of an organization it’s infuriating.

If the bears let go of fields and Kevin Warren wants to be more involved with the football operations then fire everybody and hire people in the correct order.

It would be absolutely insane if we draft a quarterback this year and keep the coach and the gm.

I feel like this thread is forgetting that we are fans…but for them it’s an every day job. If Warren doesn’t like working with Flus or Poles then he has the right to make this move…it’s on the McCaskeys for this ass backwards hiring process they had. If you just don’t like how things are tracking and you feel like you wouldn’t have hired them or they aren’t building the team to your liking then by all means make the change.

Kevin Warren is here to stay and Poles/Flus can very easily be replaced. We would look back and grade out Flus an F- and Poles would get a C+.

If he keeps Flus then Poles is just as bad as him. It will be a glaring sign that he’s cool with continuing to lose. Anyone who’s watched the Bears know Flus is horrible. 6-22 record speaks for itself. I’m sure some of us here could pull off a better record than that. Bears have hired vanilla coaches since Ditka and outside of Lovie, they’ve all been fucking horrible. It’s like playing not to lose before the game even starts. They keep the hires safe and boring, then we watch opposing coaches school us and make our team look like a joke

Poles should not be safe, there is more to being a GM than finding players. There is no sense of team, no unity, the way he runs things, even the best player on this team can be cut tomorrow.

Players don’t feel like they’re part of something, they feel like meaningless stats and numbers.

Plus the way he’s tied himself to the worst coach in Bears history is grounds enough for termination.
