A Northern California man has been found guilty of first-degree murder for beheading his ex-girlfriend with a samurai sword in the middle of a street in 2022.
The jury handed down their verdict Monday afternoon in a Redwood City courtroom.
They found Rafa Solano guilty of murdering 27-year-old Karina Castro in the middle of a street in San Carlos, a city in San Mateo County.
Officials say the crime happened in the street outside the victim’s residence during an argument over Snapchat messages.

One of my friends was drunk as shit one night and we started talking about paper mache for some reason and he’d been in prison. We’re deep into this conversation for no reason at all and homeboy randomly says something to the effect of “get me enough toilet paper in lockdown and I’ll make you a Cadillac”. Hyperbole yeah but it’s legit crazy what they make in prison.
