People always say that the players on the field are not trying to lose games, but - and this is probably going to be a bit of a controversial thing to say - I think this group is as complicit in the losing as the coaching staff and front office. Not simply from the perspective of lacking overall talent on the roster, but because they have not done anything to indicate that they have a problem with playing this poorly.

Jerry Reinsdorf, an equally cheap and stupid franchise owner, had the good sense to fire Jim Boylen when there was a mutiny on his hands. The Raiders just went through this with Josh McDaniels - Mark Davis, a guy who is has been at various times been reportedly cash-poor - is shelling out EIGHTY MILLION DOLLARS to McDaniels and Ziegler to stay the fuck away from his team after it became clear that McDaniels had completely lost the locker room.

Has that negatively impacted anyone’s career? Did Zach LaVine lose any money because he correctly identified that Jim Boylen wasn’t an NBA level head coach? Do we think any less of Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, or Antonio Pierce - leaders of a team who literally led an airing of grievances before McDaniels got canned? No!

So, why the fuck haven’t the Bears had a players-only meeting? Why are Justin Fields and DJ Moore walking back comments about the coaching staff underutilizing them or not playing to their strengths? Why is the entire team ducking the plain-as-day issue that their coaches are literally the worst at their jobs in the league - the worst at their jobs in the HISTORY OF THIS FRANCHISE? Why are they keeping their heads down?

The only explanation I can come up with is that they don’t care. And that seems to make sense to me - it’s losers the whole way down. George McCaskey doesn’t care about winning, Ryan Poles doesn’t care about winning, Matt Eberflus certainly doesn’t care about winning, and frankly, neither do Justin Fields or the rest of the roster, it seems. Just a collection of gormless losers who are milling around, doing nothing to improve, while the rest of the league - at best! - ignores them, while their rivals laugh their asses off.

You clearly are not a White Sox fan, and honestly, lucky you. But JR has no equal when it comes to cheapness, stupidity sure, but cheapness definitely not. After living through their latest rebuild, I am a bit insulted anyone can even attempt to make a case to comparing to that cheap fuck. The Bears are cheap with coaching usually but have no problem handing out contracts or acquiring big names.

JRs favorite big name is David Eckstein.

I think I just made the case for clubhouse leader in cheapness AND stupidity actually.
