Trust me, the loss today was just as big of a gut punch for me too. But in reflecting more, this is big for 2 main reasons.

1 - Flus & our staff get fired after 2023: Poles came to Chicago and said we’re gonna take the north and never give it back. Since then, we haven’t won a divisional game (0-9). Poles absolutely cannot seriously move forward into 2024 with while keeping this coaching staff here, without seriously risking his own job. If we win the Lions game today, Flus has legit case to make that we’re turning things around with this staff and they just need more time. This is the breaking point. 2 - Our draft position improves: This loss, paired with the Giants win gives us the ability to trade back from 1, get a massive haul, while still being within striking distance of MHJ. Look at all the 4 win teams - I know the loss hurts now, but in April we’ll be glad.

JF1 looked great, and I also understand that at some point this team needs to learn how to win, but this coaching staff is inept and we’ll get there next year once we clean house. Until then, Bear down.

I’m waiting for the off-season bombshell where they announce Flus and Getsy will be back for another season. You know deep down its gonna happen.

at this point I think this place would celebrate because that would mean more exciting third down runs from Fields

“Other than the QB and Wins everything else is there…”

Most infuriating press conference ever. My only hope is Kevin Warren and Poles have a big boy convo and go and get someone like Harbaugh.

I would rather in the long run had them lose yes but this shit is just getting embarrassing. Just like all of 2021 we just have to sit here and wait through another season we all knew was pointless (for this year it was obvious after week 1 this team was going fucking nowhere) and wait/hope for the new regime to be better

Yeah it doesn’t get much worse. I’d say I feel better about the future than when Trestman came in. I moved away from Chicago before that and when they hired John Fox I was like, yeah this isn’t going to go well and basically took 2 years off. 2018 reeled me back in and after that press conference where they kept Ryan and Matt , I threw in the towel.

Justin Fields gets drafted and my hope was restored, only to get another incompetent Matt. I’m more optimistic about the talent that’s building and Eberflus is like a wet blanket.

Ppl are setting themselves up for disappointment if they honestly think fields solidified himself for next year. If u want that, u should be hoping we land with pick number 3 & Williams/Maye going 1 & 2.

It was a solid performance for Fields but if poles has to fire flus for his own job security, he’s also going to think about the risk of trading #1 to stick with Fields & pass on Williams/Maye.

New coaches also will weigh in on Fields vs a rookie & most likely will prefer the raw talent they can mold vs the known commodity who could leave em stuck looking for another QB adter a show me year 4, just look at how that worked out for the giants & daboll.

It would actually be a much larger jump for one extra loss. The 13th pick is currently going to a 4 win team.

Plus Carolina is going to be the #1 pick almost certainly. If we lose to the cardinals it’s very likely we are the #2 or #3. Being #2 or #3 means either MHJ or another trade back with a massive haul.

So yes, purely on draft picks this lose could have a massive impact on our future.

I hope Jordan love has many great games for the decade like justin had a “great” game today.

Terrible on 3rd down. Only managed 10 points off 4 turnovers. Was out gained despite holding the ball twice as long. Ignored his best player on a game sealing drive. Fumbled away any comeback. Please jordan give the packers a decade plus of great games like that!

It was absolutely a win. Fields looked good so even if they don’t keep him he may have traded value and it reinforced the fact the the house needs to be completely cleaned.

I’ve been on the move on from Fields train basically saying if you have the number 1 pick and Fields is on year 4 and you still don’t know he’s your guy then you move on.

However I do think there would be some opportunities that could build an incredible roster. Basically bring in an entirely new coaching staff, use free agency to patch up the holes on defense and the line(center). Then trade back from the number 1 pick to acquire more picks or defensive talent but stay within Harrison Jr range.

Draft Marvin Harrison Jr with Panthers pick then draft Malik Nabers with the Bears pick to pair both with DJ Moore then you run out the best wr trio in the league for the next 5 years. DJ Moore, MHJ, and Nabers would be an absurdly uncoverable with Fields legs mixed and Kmet as a 4th option.

Shit Fields might look like OSU Fields again just because someone is wide open on every play.

Plus, from the haul we get for the #1 pick we have ammo to trade up for our next QB in future drafts if Fields ends up not being the guy.

Interesting about both MHJ and Nabers. 2 elite WRs on rookie contracts is nearly as advantageous as a QB on a rookie contract given how expensive WRs are 🤔
