This would be more accurate if the top said, “but he just wins games,” and the bottom said, “He threw for less than 170 yards”

This is so God damn hilarious, but not to this sub that’s full of boomers. This sub isn’t exactly progressive or anywhere near it

Jesus Christ this sub is fucking devolving to new lows.

Field isn’t even remotely a gunslinger, he’s a coward that doesn’t throw to wide open receivers because he’s more comfortable scrambling

I believe this is a reference to MNF for Josh Allen being called a “gunslinger” even though he’s throwing picks left and right

So do people on this sub not watch the games? Or is it all just nephews that have bad opinions because the are like 15?

Fields, the gunslinger who doesn’t sling, instead keeps the gun in the holster and runs the guy over

Decisive but throws interceptions vs annoyingly unable to pull the trigger but exciting when he runs

Josh Allen has made it to the AFC Championship game, the divisional twice, has a 4-4 playoff record, and if it wasn’t for 13 seconds would have made it to a Super Bowl. He’s earned the benefit of the doubt after stellar play the past few seasons even if this one is disappointing so far. Justin Fields is 6-25 as a starter and has looked bad even in the games he’s won. Arguing race is the difference in perception between the two is incredibly stupid.

If Fields took the Josh Allen approach he’d at least show his potential, the problem is that Fields requires too much certainty to operate (he’d also throw a shit ton of interceptions). For people that think it’s a Bears problem, because Mitch had the same problem, keep in mind that most premier college QB’s can’t read an NFL defense pre-snap AND post-snap, all within seconds. The ability to do this is exceedingly rare, probably requires very specific innate skills and years of practice. Fields and Mitch don’t have the skill and were never asked to develop in this area throughout their early careers. They are cooked bird, they what they are. Allen doesn’t appear to be great at it either, but he throws it anyway, for mixed results. The problem is that college ball is mostly about athleticism and the NFL is about skill first and top-shelf athleticism second. I think NIL will spread talent around more, increase parity in college ball, and the jump to the NFL will become a bigger and bigger leap. Super teams won’t exist anymore, with means college QB’s will never play against elite defenses until the NFL.
