Virtually every QB in the NFL is deviating from their career norms this season. Studs like Allen, Mahomes, Burrow (playing better recently) Lawrence, Hurts, Watson, etc all seem to be turning the ball over more. What do you think is causing this? Just more Defensive adjustments?
I think football in general went away from developing players and instead went towards developing athletes. Guys with a good head for the game never get a chance at QB because it’s easy to call QB sweep left and QB sweep right at the HS level with good athletes. These guys go to college and rarely have a coach that makes them better QBs.
Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, etc. would have never been given a shot in todays climate. They would’ve been asked to move to Tight End.
