Given how the Constituition is written, if they bother to follow it, making venezuela a state would allow them to freely travel and work here. I’m sure tens of millions of migrants would go over well with his base.

He’s trolling. Typically, I avoid saying this about Trump, because although he has ludicrously awful goals, a lot of the time he does follow through on them, if he can. In this case, however, making Venezuela a state would hurt the Republicans because it would be a blue state. Of course, he could just make it a territory instead, like Puerto Rico, but he didn’t say that. That’s how I know he’s trolling.
