After testing a few different Linux distros at the end of 2025, I now finally settled on Pop!_OS as my OS of choice. I think it looks really nice with the Cosmic desktop environment and could be costumized to be similar to Windows. It also has something like an App Store where I could download some of my favourite software (emphasis for me is ideally FOSS alternatives to popular apps: GIMP, LibreOffice, Ardour, VLC player) and I also am finally able to use LibreWolf as my privacy-respecting browser of choice. So far the experience is rather comfortable!

If anyone has any recommendations or tips - be it software, YT channels, articles - I am really glad to hear them! I know a few of you are experienced Linux users. There’s still my Google TV left that I’d like to replace the OS to get away from Big Tech bullshit, but from what I’ve read this won’t be as easy as flashing a Linux distros from an USB stick.
