“The Swedish government wants to strengthen ties with US tech giants, despite the Trump administration’s potential influence over these companies. This is according to Minister for Public Administration Erik Slottner (KD) in Ny Teknik. “What is happening in the US is rather proof that we need to have a strong relationship with these tech companies – perhaps even stronger than we have today. Europe is an important market for them, and they are very keen to have a good relationship with us.” He mentions Google, for example, as a partner he wants to continue to have on his digitalization council.”

get these idiots out of government in september, please.
also, in the full interview in ny teknik he mentions something interesting: he believes sweden should be less dependent on american cloud services. so increased trade, less… usage. i don’t understand how this man thinks. or if he does at all.
Lot of talk about data, deregulation, and ai. I think more trade involves selling welfare records of various kinds to tech companies.
yeah, weaken national integrity for the sake of “progress”. standard stuff.
This is called corruption. They need to be prosecuted to their ass and beyond, for collaborating with fascists.
Meanwhile neighbouring Norway is working on how to resist enshittification: https://www.forbrukerradet.no/breakingfree
In the new report Breaking Free: Pathways to a fair technological future, the Norwegian Consumer Council has delved into enshittification and how to resist it. The report shows how this phenomenon affects both consumers and society at large, but that it is possible to turn the tide.
Someone’s entering the dark side of force.
History is doing a lot more than just rhyming.
Makes total sense, of course you want a good relationship with those good companies that never break laws, don’t secretly lobby to have laws changed in their favour, don’t evade their taxes, and definitely have a positive impact on the wellbeing of all citizens. Good companies like that don’t brainwash or bribe people, they are our friends. Go Sweden, Go!
