I’m skeptical about changing the weather complication from the default one apple provides to CARROT because I’m not sure if it’s reliable or not.
Carrot is awesome
Carrot allows you to set Apple Weather as the source of its data. It has others as well so if Apple Weather isn’t the most reliable for your region, you can find one that is.
I looked into this and I have to pay for premium so i guess i won’t be using this lmao
LOVE Carrot, but don’t love paying for Premium to get the good features, BUT paying anyway since Apple dismantled Dark Sky. The Carrot app on AW beats the heck outta the travesty that is the current Watch OS 10 weather app. A drunk person designed it.
How long have you had the Premium? Is it worth it?
That’s relative, I guess… I did “Ultra Premium” for $40/yr. Probably could have been ok with just Premium for $20/yr. I made an emotional decision when Apple took Dark Sky dark. The desktop app is pretty great, too… I think that comes with whatever Premium plan you get. Long live Carrot
They’re all unreliable.
Legit question, why isn’t the default weather app good enough?
It’s great, the default app is fine. The issue is I wanted something with a little more detail.
Default weather app doesn’t talk trash
It is ok but not as detailed as some would like, it is better since apple bought darksky though.
Hard to read (what’s up with those colors?), plus too many taps to see the actual forecast. Carrot all the way
for me, Apple’s just not a reliable data source, especially when it comes to their rain prediction.
Carrot lets you switch between multiple sources and choose the one that works best for you, which may or may not be Apple, so you can still use it as a source while getting an app that looks and functions a lot better.
It’s very reliable as it has multiple weather data sources and you can select the one that is/has been the most accurate for your area.
Anyone in the northeast US recommend a source? I still don’t know which one works best for my area
I’m in the northeast and it can vary. You can use https://www.forecastadvisor.com and plug in your ZIP to see which source has been the most accurate both recently and historically.
