I’m on season 3 of Captain Marleau aka Capitaine Marleau - This is a top tier crime dramedy, Marleau is one of the best female characters ever. Started season 4 of Dark Winds - I love it so much, can’t wait to see what story they came up with for this season. I’m almost done with Spring Tide aka Springfloden - season 2 is much better than 1 for me, I’m glad I decided to stick with the show Finished season 1 of Fallen aka Sanningen (2023) - I can’t wait until season 2 gets exported I’m watching season 3 of Arctic Circle aka Ivalo (2018) - season 1 was just ok, but season 2 was awesome… so far season 3 is good
I started binging the Pitt this weekend and am finally all caught up. What a great show!
Showing my partner Twin Peaks. Just finished E2 “Zen, or the Skill to Catch a Killer”
Forgot how quick shit goes crazy in this show and it’s amazing.
Scrubs got rebooted. I’ve heard of doesn’t suck so giving it a try
It doesn’t, so far. In fairness it’s not really a reboot as far as I’m concerned… it’s just a really, really delayed new season. Almost all of the cast has returned and the dynamics are basically the same. It’s like a comfortable old shoe.
At least we get to pretend that horrible Season 8 never happened.
But Bill Lawrence has been busy. I also really loved Shrinking, which has a similar vibe and some familiar faces.
My issue is that the two main stars burned through my remaining goodwill with twenty years of crappy ads.
I’ve had this issue a lot lately, where something I once enjoyed is repeatedly shoved down my throat until I no longer have any interest in returning. (Stranger Things was another recent example.)
I literally never see commercials, so it’s not a problem for me. I’m sorry they ruined it for you.

Shogun:
I just did a full rewatch and man it is just such an amazing show! I do have to admit the the finale is the weakest episode of the show. It is not bad, it just isn’t as good as the rest.

Fallout
I am in the second season and it is great.

The Pitt
This is my favorite show that is currently airing.
I am rewatching Scrubs with my wife. I watched it when it originally aired, and at least once since then. We just started season 4 last night.
I started watching Avatar the Last Airbender. I remembered the first episode, but nothing else after that.
- A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - A must-watch if you enjoyed Game of Thrones. My only complaint is that the episodes and the first season are too short.
- Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Not the best thing ever, but I don’t hate it. Worth watching if you’re craving more Star Trek and have already seen everything else.
- Small Prophets - Decent British dramedy with a touch of fantasy/sci-fi. Pretty good, but if you want to watch British drama, I’d watch Adolescence, Baby Reindeer and Waiting for the Out first.
- The Beauty - Cheesy horror/thriller show. If you really enjoyed The Substance you might get a kick out of this. Would be more entertaining if it leaned harder into the body horror or cheesy dialogue.
- Strip Law - Adult animated comedy with a bit of absurdity and surrealism. Not bad if you’re into that sort of thing.
- Paradise - Really enjoyed season one. So far season two is ok, but hasn’t really grabbed me.
- Lord of the Flies - An ok adaptation of the book and the child actors do a really good job. The pretentious style of filming doesn’t add much and mighty put some people off.
- Shrinking - This show started out pretty well, but now in its third season it has completely lost its dark edge and leans too hard into the feel-good stuff for my taste. It also feels to me like everyone is more or less playing the same character now. Really enjoyed Michael J. Fox playing a small part in this season, though. Probably won’t keep watching.
- The Knick (2014) - Solid realistic drama about a fictional hospital in New York at the start of the 20th century. Lots of people dying from experimental surgery. Racism is also an important theme.
- Better off Ted (2009) - It’s got its moments, but after a few episodes I don’t really get the hype yet.
Every time I see “Small Prophets” mentioned I get excited for a second thinking it’s Terry Pratchett’s “Small Gods”.
The Knick is still in my queue. I will get to it eventually.
I caught the first episode of How to Get to Heaven from Belfast the other day. It was intriguing and entertaining.
I’ve been watching Hungarian-Austrian historical drama Rise of the Raven. I dislike how anything medieval now just automatically gets compared to Game of Thrones, but I do think this one has a lot of similarities with its wide cast and mixture of political scheming, graphic violence, sex/nudity and combat. The pacing can be a bit all over the place in some episodes with some big time skips and characters can sometimes feel like they’re teleporting from one place to another because it’s rushing through the timeline, but I definitely think it’s worth a watch if you like this kind of stuff. The sets, costumes and production values are all really great and it has a strong cast. They take some liberties with history but it does hit on most of the key events and has some fun interpretations of historical figures like Vlad the Impaler and his father Vlad Dracul. This show makes me want to boot up Crusader Kings III again, which means it’s doing something right!
Just got caught up on season 2 of Fallout. Great season overall.
Watched the first couple of episodes of Paradise s02. Looking forward to watching more.
Starfleet Academy - I’m still watching, but I’m not really thrilled with it. It’s OK, but not really geared towards me. Episodes don’t really leave me itching for more.
The Pitt. Can’t recommended it enough. Fantastic show.
