Playing tag with @porkbuttsntaters666@sub.wetshaving.social regarding the CFG soap base. Granted I’m still not sure which base his soap is, but this sample of Midnight Stag is the regular base (not the Silk Tallow base).
I smeared a smush of my sample into a bowl. I find that warming the bowl with hot water softens the soap and makes it easier to spread. I loaded it with an almost-dry brush and got a thick, stiff, dry initial lather which was not too poofy and had lots of good soapy denseness. Starting off this way ensures there’s plenty of soap available to protect you. I added water until I saw fit, and it was wonderful. This was the end of this sample, and one day I’ll get a full tub of Midnight Stag. It’s a work of art.
I have the silk tallow.
Ahhh, I see. That stuff needs to be loaded loaded loaded and loaded more before loading more.
I already loaded like 4 times more than I would with a normal soap – maybe I should just kill the soap in one go 🤔

This brush is absurd.
Does it fit into the tub, or do you have to bucket-load?
It kind of fits, not well though. I think a bucket might be an improvement.

Woot! LatherBot picked a soap I actually have!
Sherlock is a good scent. I had good performance from the lather. The aftershave has a surprising amount of menthol.

I tried like @walden@wetshav.ing said, going in very dry, and adding water very slowly. It was better, but it was no way good. Maybe I should take some other soap to distract myself, where you put a wet brush somewhere near the soap, and it produces mounts of sweet, fluffy, protective lather.
Have a good day!
