As long as thefts are treated like cars, what’s the problem? If you have to register like a car then when it’s stolen it should be GTA.
Too late in NJ :( i now have a $2k eBike with no purpose. It’s sole use was for school pick up and drop off, but we are no longer allowed passengers with the new laws saying that eBikes are classified as mopeds.
People need to stop hitting others at motorcycle speeds.
People need to stop conflating emoto and emoped with electric bicycles too.
The kids around my way are hitting buisness entrance burms like motocross jumps , it’s pretty crazy . I doubt they are E- bikes but more of what you mentioned emoto or something.
Just a matter of time before there is some “news worthy” incident because of these entitled jack ass’.

No doubt. When we were kids and things weren’t as built up we went far out in the woods or undeveloped lots and built BMX tracks and even had dirt bikes but it’s hard to find places like that anymore. I certainly don’t blame them …I think looking back we were way worse than they are
We really don’t care as a society about kids. We take away all.their options and then complain when they try and find something else to do instead.

Nah, it’s a motor vehicle and should be treated as such.
You are mistaken: It is legally distinct from a motorized vehicle and certainly should be. A motor vehicle weighs thousands of pounds and is capable of speeds in excess of 100 mph. An electric bicycle weighs well under 100 lbs and can travel no faster than 28 mph in the fastest class (3), which is something an ordinary geared bicycle is capable of.
Actual motor vehicles are not even remotely close to the same level of danger and your ignorance on the subject is staggering: They kill over 270,000 people EVERY YEAR, ebikes don’t even come remotely close to that even if you add up EVERY YEAR THEY HAVE EXISTED for reasons that should be obvious if you bother to think about it.
Putting electric bicycles in the same class of motor vehicles is absolutely ridiculous and choosing to completely ignore reality: Go look at the statistics for yourself and you will see how wrong you are.
