    In all the coverage of this I have not seen a single statement from her that is supportive of Trump or his immigration policy. I’m not saying she’s a good person but I’m starting to suspect people just want to force this story to fit the narrative they find gratifying instead of learning what actually happened.

    And then, even if she did support this it doesn’t mean her son did, who is the real victim here. I wish people would have a little more compassion for victims of state violence. But it seems this is rare even on the left when there is a more convent narrative.

      I believe he did have a visa and applied for asylum, although being the son of a politician unless there are some very unusual circumstances, his asylum claim seems dubious.

      That said, he was following the rules as they exist and should not have been arrested.

      Those things only mattered when DHS/ICE were operating under the constitutional law, once they threw out due process and warrants signed by judges they did the usual thing heavily armed, poorly educated, fascist gangs do. Murder opposition and send scapegoats to prison camps.
