I honestly find this post gross. Feminism isn’t daydreaming about turning the tables, it’s about leveling them.
That’s a really interesting perspective. To me it’s not about that it’s just to illustrate how wrong it is… kinda like when someone says something ableist and you substitute black for disability in what they say to highlight how discriminatory it is
If it was swapping one discriminated group for another (ie, disabled for black) then I could see it as that sort of comparison. But the specific structure of the text in this pic sounds more akin to “imagine a world where white people were the slaves.” I hear an implied, wistful “if only….” at the end.
The image smacks of I don’t want to suffer, I want the other side to suffer.
I’m sure it’s not your intent, but it’s also implying that the average person agrees with “dad is baby sitting while mom is parenting.” And I’d say that statement alone would get the average person’s back up.
I respect that although I see it differently ❤️
I find this degrading regardless of which way it’s directed. Both parents are parents, neither is babysitting them.
That’s a really good point. Babysitting a kid for a few hours basically means you’re making sure they don’t come to harm for a few hours. Parenting a child is being responsible for their safety, welfare and development for as long as you’re alive. Totally different
Exactly. Parenting is WAY more than babysitting.
Like, I can babysit a child. Making sure they’re alive and well after two days is pretty easy.
Parenting a child means making sure they end up as a good human being after two decades. Thats WAY harder.
It’s not babysitting, it’s called Parenting.

It’s not babysitting to look after your own child
I … don’t get it? Can someone explain like I’m five?
Like you’re five?
Baby comes out of mommy, mommy now takes care of baby forever.
Daddy goes to work, but if daddy helps mommy, everyone notices daddy for the extra good job he is doing, he’s such a good daddy!
Mommy takes care of baby all the time so it’s not special and nobody notices (sometimes this makes mommy sad, even angry).
Mommy wonders: but what if baby came out of daddy instead and daddy had to take care of baby?
Mommy would be such a good mommy for when she helps daddy with the baby, and everyone would notice!
OK, now it makes (some) sense. Thanks.
I don’t get the joke.
