      Did the heat this summer not directly affect them? It sure affected me.

        It’s gotta affect them quickly enough for it not to just become the new normal. If every year is just a bit hotter than the previous year, then they’ll all just sit around until they can no longer survive, like the proverbial frog in the pot of water.

      Sooner or later, yes. Nobody is immortal.

      Now being serious, it’s possible that a considerable portion of the population will die in climate related catastrophes. Famines, droughts, floods, heatwaves… we’ll see a lot of natural disasters. It’ll be gradual, though. One event here, another there. And it’ll get worse with time. By the end of the century, humanity may be in a delicate situation.
