It’s gotta affect them quickly enough for it not to just become the new normal. If every year is just a bit hotter than the previous year, then they’ll all just sit around until they can no longer survive, like the proverbial frog in the pot of water.
Most people are not paying attention and don’t care unless it directly affects them.
