for the past several decades, government rigged hiring & university enrollment in your favor, excluding & impoverishing heterosexual white men in particular.
tbf university specifically doesn’t turn out to actually be financially rewarding today; lots of people have degrees but it doesn’t really help them on the labor market.
and i even argue that DEI hiring does not happen so much because it’s government mandated but because companies prefer the cheaper labor that they get from women, because they often do comparable labor but get lower wages, so the company saves some money. DEI is just an excuse the company brings forward to justify it in front of their male employees, so the management doesn’t get hated for replacing the workforce with other, cheaper workforce. at least that’s my guess if i had to make one.
