IF SHE LOOKED UPON THE HORROR HER HUSBAND HAD BECOME… SHE WOULD SCREAM FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!

François Delambre is called late at night by his sister-in-law, Helene, who tells him that she has just killed her scientist husband. Reluctant at first, she eventually tells the police that he invented a matter transportation device and, while experimenting on himself, had a horrific accident that altered the essence of his very being.

A classic of B-cinema. If you’ve only seen the David Cronenberg remake, you owe it to yourself to check out the original.

Since the movie goes to great lengths to obscure the appearance of the scientist after his horrific accident, I decided against posting images that fully show him in his 🪰 shape.

If you haven’t already, look up the trailer for this film. It’s basically “This is too scary to show you, so here’s some random sound effects from the movie”. Encountered it in the wild on a dvd of The Alligator People from the thrift store

It’s the trailer I linked in the post. It’s gimmicky but I love that, by not showing anything, it’s fairly spoiler free. It’s great how they did it here and I wish more movies would go this route.

All I can remember clearly about it is that teeny little voice repeating “… help me! … help me!”
