This build has gone through many iterations, but I think I am finally content with the results. Unfortunately I do not have a recent video or anything showcasing how the build opens. The top floors are removable featuring a wild west area with a prospector and the other side is an Egyptian showcase. The bottom floors are reception and old Model A cars. One day I might even add lights to it.

I do have an older set of pictures from last year: https://imgur.com/a/UmADx3G

    opens akin to a book

Breaks in to two halves, you mean? (from what I’m seeing in the Imgur link)

Very cool, in any case, and also begs a question-- how “gauche” by LEGO standards would it be to (ala minifigure painting), add some painted weathering effects to the tannish building tiles?

It’s quite possible. I wont be able to try that until next year. Currently the build is on display at The Henry Ford Museum. https://imgur.com/a/oUOQ5ss you’ll see it in this video, next to my botanical garden and spider mech.

        Holy wowsers, that’s wonderful.

Daggit, and that museum looks quite boss. Can’t say I’m a fan of its namesake, but that’s the way these things go, sometimes. Hope I might possibly visit, one day…
