The best thing I can think of that is happening to Bluesky right now is that people and communities are spinning up 3rd party PDS servers and letting people join them. This is allowing, finally, the decentralization, of the AT Protocol.
That along with the folks at ANew.Social with their bounce and bridgy tools is making the inter-connectivity of the open web so much better.
Have any of you tried moving your Bluesky account to a new PDS?

I’m so excited for Northsky.
considering it is in the middle of a controversy where the admins are accused of all sorts of things (good old mod drama that wasn’t supposed to exist on Bsky…) I can’t tell if you’re being facetious.
I saw them on Bluesky and they seem like are a Canadian-based ATProtocol pds focused on 2SLGBTQIA+ folks like me. Haven’t heard anything about a controversy, and nothing obvious pops up when I try to search for something. Could you expand on what sort of things there is controversy about and provide some kind of source? I wouldn’t want to move to them or support them if they are doing something nefarious?

Hmmm, kinda yikes, yeah. Thanks for sharing.
Honestly, I’m just gonna assume the person I responded to was mistaken or just salty about something inconsequential if I never get a response.
Doesn’t get me that excited… The Bsky team is not doing much to help it decentralize and the architecture tends to make it difficult and expensive to do (PDS is far from enough). One suspects these things are by design because they’re planning to make money out of it.
Good points. 😩🤓
