So the cattery messaged me and said I’ll find out if I got the job by the end of the day Wednesday, because another applicant had to delay their trial shift.

Now me arriving 10 minutes early to mine looks real good methinks 🙏

Edit: I want be Ron Swanson, but really I’m the Eurotrash he hates 😂

Tried to get some rainbow photos. Didn’t capture all the colours, but turned out interestingly to me.

For a rainbow to happen, there needs to be a storm.

    Pakidge!

I decided I wasn’t happy with how well the food processor kneads bread dough and decided to get a bread maker. It also gives me another option for making yoghurt which is a good thing, I usually make it in the rice cooker and some times I want to make both rice and yoghurt and things get awkward.

Myers had the model I got on special, so I price matched it with Appliances Online and bought it through them. It’s funny to think when I was growing up Myers was considered a top store with great service and now I’d prefer not to buy from them if I can avoid it and don’t really trust their customer service to be up to scratch. How the world has changed.

Same here re Myer. Last time I went I stood in the store for a good 10 minutes and was not approached once by a staff member. This would’ve been unheard of with the Myer of my youth.

Also let me know how you go with the breadmaker. I’ve been a little tempted but I’m sticking with my stretching-and-folding sourdough thing for now.

I have had a few breadmakers before. They are really good at kneading dough (and providing a warm place for it to rise) but are not as good at the actual baking. I intend to just use it for the kneading and then bake the loaf in the oven. Which is how my mother has been using hers for years too, with very good results.

This hot dry weather coming is just the thing I need so I can clean the wool rugs and hang them out.

Am missing the beach but too tired and it’s a bit wild out there still

Husband. I might use the big vacuum cleaner in my office.

Me. It’s good to use the big one sometimes as the robot doesn’t get the edges well.

Husband. The robot doesn’t clean in here.

Me. Do you bring it in, do you switch it on

    Husband. No.

Me. Then how can it can clean.

        🫥🫣😳

And not even the water soluble ones as they were so costly and would probably require the risky stuff anyway… I found a very cheap tiny starter pack of the real dealio.

        Safety rambles

Probably poor quality and not thick enough for my purpose and there probably isn’t enough white to make Magic White without finishing the tube. There are two little brushes included but they’ll have to serve, to not mix the ones for oil and acrylic.

Added a tiny bottle of the linseed oil (refined is safer and I plan to soak the used paper towels in water then discard sealed in a ziploc or some container - I’ll ask the council).

I really got stung badly on the large bottle of odourless spirits though because there were no small bottles in stock. Ouch.

I’m thinking to clear off a plastic table near one screen door to keep everything away from curious little beans and lickable fur. And set a fan blowing through it to force the fumes outside (with the opposite door cracked for air flow and added pressure).

…Now to just ignore all my art supplies forever like a lazy useless p.o.s because of fear of failure 😔

The last coat of paint has gone on the lawnmower. I failed to keep the paint off my hands this time, so I’m now sprorting yellow spots. We should have a couple of mostly dry days coming up so I’ll be able to get out and cut the grass and see how much difference to new sharp blades make.

My last lawnmower was basically a glorifies whipper snipper and had a plastic ‘blade’. Having to worry about things like sharpening a blade is a new thing for me.

I don’t really want the lawnmower to go too fast, I generally keep the speed control closer to tortoise than hare, so red could have been a problem. The yellow is all underneath so is mostly invisible anyway & I’m pretty sure the red thing only works if you can see it.

I read a “theory” that the Piano Man is actually performing in a gay bar and it cracks me up whenever I hear the song. I love it.
