Not as such. Nor the denouement of s4e2 “Family,” but I’m just fucking about with a contentious moment in Trek for shits and giggles.

fair, I do like though that TNG had even a character like Picard that had strong morals intelligence and willpower break

torture is monstrous and cares nothing for who you are and bondesque scenes of resisting it do us a diservice

nope pretty much everyone breaks, mostly just avoiding absolute statements here

with the exception of protecting something irreplaceable (people’s lives come to mind) there really is no point holding out, course giving in doesn’t mean they are going to stop

I’m sorry for the downvotes, what you said is true: pretty much everyone breaks.

Few people have withstood torture and didn’t break. Imagine the most intense pain you’ve suffered, and think if you would endure it for hours and hours. I’m not talking about a stubbed toe or an ingrown nail, I’m talking about REAL PAIN.

            It’s more than just pain.

I’m a pretty advanced masochist, but there’s a difference between being water boarded by your spouse in your home according to guidelines you’ve agreed upon in advance and with a safeword and safe gesture, and being tortured by someone who expects to dispose of your body later.
