    I think my favorite part about the TNG universe is not having to hear AI propaganda from every direction.

    Just one Data, trying to be more human.

    I mean, we are talking about the Chief of engineering.

    Level 1-2 diagnostics should already have been done by lower ranks.

    He’s probably the only one allowed to run level 3.

      It’s a TNG joke that Geordi only runs level 1 and 3 diagnostics.

      He does run level 2, but it’s rare.

        If I had to guess (and I am) they probably look something like:

        Level 1 diagnostic: reboot it

        Level 2 diagnostic: persussive maintenance (looked down upon by Starfleet)

        Level 3 diagnostic: actually check logs and reference documentation for any error messages present
