I think my favorite part about the TNG universe is not having to hear AI propaganda from every direction.

Level 1-2 diagnostics should already have been done by lower ranks.
He’s probably the only one allowed to run level 3.
It’s a TNG joke that Geordi only runs level 1 and 3 diagnostics.
He does run level 2, but it’s rare.
If I had to guess (and I am) they probably look something like:
Level 1 diagnostic: reboot it
Level 2 diagnostic: persussive maintenance (looked down upon by Starfleet)
Level 3 diagnostic: actually check logs and reference the manual for any error messages present
Not always. Sometimes it’s:
Level 3 diagnostic: 3
If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
Unless you can half-ass it, in which case definitely do that!:-)
or in this case, either do it well or third-ass it if you can.
(we need to stop talking about asses here though… Riker could be nearby!)
