After 40 years of pretty much exclusively wearing Adidas shell-toes (thanks Run DMC!), Vans and Converse, my feet are fucked and I’ve had to come over to the dark side with some fitted fat-soled New Balance runners. Oh my! It’s like walking on air and I love it lol
I just want to find shoes wide enough for my sore little toe 🥺
Book a fitting with Athlete’s Foot and they’ll recommend some brands and styles. I went with NB in the end, but the Hoka range felt roomier width wise.

I just listened to the Stuff You Should Know about Adidas and Puma yesterday. It’s really quite interesting. Adidas got it’s start from Jesse Owens at the '36 Olympics.

e: I’m proud to say I’ve run the dishwasher, vacuumed, washed the woolens and hung them to dry, and packed most of my stuff. Just need to do my eyebrows, handwash stuff and throw in the final packing items tomorrow morning. Calm. I am allowed to relax.

I don’t have to go back to work until Monday after getting back from a two week holiday in Fiji yesterday. I’m not looking forward to the shit show I come back to as I know it will be a thing and then training a new hire remotely a few days after I get back.
Oh well, I’m currently just enjoying my wine and later me can worry about that.
Edit: It’s also fucking cold here and I want my warm island life back :(

It was great as it was warm vs here. I did feel bad and cry a bit at a hotel where two kittens appeared that looked stray but I fed them some of my meal. Then a dog appeared that obviously had puppies due to her teats but I could only do my best. Besides that it was great on an island besides the sea snakes that also go on land…
Should we consider new titles rather than daily thread? DT was reddit. We’re our own thing now. Curious to see what folks think about starting our own traditions.
