Yo I’m gonna be honest, I’m sad about all this. Like my minds struggling to contain whatever this complex mixed up emotion is. Like I said in the dt before everything blew up, I’m not good at goodbyes. And part of me just feels like this is an end of some description, like nothings gonna be the same again. I don’t like change.

I feel like the community’s been broken up, and I also feel sad. Instead of being in one place we’ve become divided, with some at Reddit and some here, some on discord and others forming new breakaway Reddit subs. I do like the vibe here better, it is definitely much nicer and more supportive in my opinion. Maybe it’s all the anger over there, or maybe I’m wary because a handful of people just closed the sub without any consideration for the users and it could happen again. I’m definitely here to stay, but I miss what it used to be as well. We had a great thing and they broke it.

    late coffee poem

Late night coffee, how very European
Though they may not have meant at 1am
You only live once, and it may be quite short
So indulge, treat yourself, this isn’t all for naught.

I am very confused by this new platform but I managed to bumble my way here from reddit. Hi DT! I missed you.

          dear raven poem

Dear Raven, my friend, this is no war,
Poetry brings us together, an open door.
All are welcome here to write and rhyme,
Express thyself, in or out of time.
Worry not about beats, no beatings today,
Just peace, and venting, in a fun way.
So come join us, write a fine ditty,
We are just humans, and we’re all so pretty!

My dear StudChud I am properly chastened
Into a battle I should not have hastened
It’s the daily thread, here for friends and fun
And the beats and rhymes are for everyone

the joy of prose i suppose

No shame to be had, only joyous celebration!
The dawn is upon us, a cold but welcome revelation.
For most are readying, eating, and showering,
To work all day under their bosses brows, glowering
But this thread, daily and constant, bring hope to us suffering
That we are accepted, a rare and wonderful thing <3

Hell naw! this is a war
'cos writings what I live for
You better be on your game
If you think you can tame
This beast, and make a name
            For yourself. I ain’t play’n

              stupid rap

Yo, sit down and check it
              Before you mess up
              And wreck it
This is a war of attrition
              My rhymes are not missin’
              We all know I’m winnin’
              In this game of prose-chicken
So be aware of where you tread
Don’t let the rhymes go to your head
Though poems aren’t my buttered bread
My lines are tight and won’t be shred

Yo chill playa, i weren’t talkin no smack
But shit, now that you’re bringin’ it… Your rhymes are whack
They lackin’, you slackin’, you tracking to go broke
This ain’t no joke. Your rhymes, yeh they keep time
But mine? They come with that essence, that effervescence
Maybe I’ll teach you some time if you can keep that ego in line

                  lame reply poem

I fell asleep before I saw this diss,
You win, my friend, sorry for this.
I didn’t turn up and reply in rhyme,
Your word’s superior, for now and all time.\

I was cruising for German recipes and I came across hackbraten (German meatloaf). This will pair nicely with my chocolate bavarian that’s been in my freezer for the past 3 weeks.

Funny what a difference it makes when you have people at work that have similar common interests than you do. Not to shit on people who love reality TV, but hearing that kind of stuff day in, day out in the office is enough for me to put my headphones in and drown the noise out with whatever genre I want for the day.

Change the topic to videogames and sure enough 30 minutes goes by in a blink (to which I’m sure those who want to talk about reality TV are then chucking headphones in themselves haha).

I would rather soap operas, at least soaps talk about social issues , reality tv is just nasty

Most (if not all) reality tv is still ‘scripted’ in a way. Produces guide the outcomes and create drama for views.

Source: a friend worked on the crew of MAFS for a few seasons and shared some inside info.

          Oooh spill!
I watched a couple of seasons with Mum as she preferred FTA to streaming or arr’ed, peaced out for the ball cupping one and we tuned in again last year when Olivia went Olivia.

Producers encouraged infidelity, if sparks didn’t fly from the start. If sparks did fly, the couples would be ‘tested’ a bit more to create tension. Most groups scenes heavily edited to paint certain people as ‘villains’.
About 50% of the participants only signed up to create drama. Producers would spread fake rumours and see how people reacted, then they’d try to make the rumours reality if it looked like shit was going to get juicy.

Does anyone have a fridge that makes a moaning noise, mine started doing that a few weeks ago. Trying to figure out if the fridge is making those noises or if our neighbours are just overly passionate 24/7…

I recently bought a fancy rice cooker (upgraded from the trusty cheapo kmart one button one), and this one has a smaller cup capacity (3c instead of 6 or 10) which is perfect for 2 people who don’t need huge quantities of rice. Plus it made amazing rice, including brown rice which I’ve never managed to cook well before! Very happy hehe
