Not only is fallacy reffing stupid, it’s not even an example of ad hominem, it’s just an insult.
Ad hominem: “You’re wrong because you’re a doo doo head.”
Not ad hominem: “You’re a doo doo head and you’re wrong.”
Also not ad hominem: “You’re a doo doo head because you’re wrong.”
It seems you’re right, this behavior is of lower quality than even abusive ad hominem, and probably just fits in the “name calling” base of the hierarchy. Lowest of the low. There’s a lot of examples of such behavior in this thread.
Complaining about “fallacy reffing” is very self serving when the fallacy is on your side. It pretty much demonstrates that no one here is capable of having a debate in good faith.
