    Typical racist BS theory as a method to delegitimise the Treaty.

    Somehow these clowns seem to think if they can prove Maori weren’t the first here, thereforethe Treaty means nothing and can be scrapped.

    Regardless of any prior inhabitants, Maori were already here when the Europeans arrived.

    So ten years ago visiting I was told about this earlier race of redheaded people as archaeological theory based on incomplete evidence, but like something that was an active question. But now the story is very different and I guess the government has officially acknowledged that it was just a way to undermine the Maori treaties and reparations.

    Shiet, we should all return our land to the great Hallucigenia, they’re the one that’s found across the world so technically they’re here first.

    We wernt - the Moriori were here before us. Common NZ knowledge.

    Its also common knowledge we ate alot of them…

      Common misconception actually. Moriori are an offshoot of Māori, most likely Ngai Tahu, who arrived in Aotearoa during the same migration period as everyone else.

        Well I have a few history teachers im now very unimpressed with.
