Probably not. Can you imagine someone with a non-Apple phone not being willing to buy an iPhone, but being willing to buy one of those?

Depends on the recipient.
And you could always encrypt a message against your recipient’s public key, print it out, and then mail it from a random drop box. You could even include a public key in the message so the recipient can send you back letters, and include an address in the letter they could reach you at.
It’d only really work if enough people were sending such letters to enough recipients though, or the act of encrypting your messages in such a manner would itself be a data point.
Also, you could print the messages on thermal paper, so they fade over time.
This will probably blow some people’s minds: approximately 9,000 people live in The City of London. The average daily population however is 500,000. And of course, 9.8 million people live in Greater London.
Only if you consider worthiness to be the most important aspect of goodness….

A good solution to China dumping green tech on the market?
Everyone else ALSO dumps green tech on the market.
Yeah, there’s the problem with rare earth refinement, but that just means someone has to come up with a green solution that’s cheaper than China abusing its population and destroying its ecosystem to provide rare earths.
In other words, the solution to China dumping and accruing the costs isn’t political, it’s to beat them at their own game, in an ethical way. And it should be possible. Maybe not with CEOs pulling down trillion dollar bonuses, but if the people at the top tightened their belts, it could easily be done.
Just imagine if a few countries considered ecological defense to be a significant part of their military budget.

Seems to me that the purpose of a martial art and of MMA differ significantly. Most martial arts are about finding a unity and discipline in your life and passing that on to others.
MMA seems to be about finding the movement combinations from various martial arts that combine to cause the most damage to the opponent. I can’t imagine being able to actively practice more than two or three arts at the same time and actually hold to the core principles of all of them.
Takes me back to Karate Kid, really….

Are you saying they allow it because they use cryptocurrency?
Because unlike cash, cryptocurrency is designed to be traced. Even Monero. That’s the entire point of a digital ledger on a blockchain.

That would be a question to ask the Republicans. Innocent people are ALREADY being negatively impacted. Just because it’s not you doesn’t mean the problem doesn’t already exist.
Nothing of value was gained by capitulating, and a little bit more was lost.
To deny this is to deny how US politics has worked for the past 50 years.

Well, no — it’s his job to lead them in a unified vision. It’s then the whip’s job to coerce them. And Durbin, who capitulated this time, is the whip.
So Schumer is directly responsible for Durbin, and the two of them together are responsible for all the rolling over.

Or, it could be random noise at this point.
Or It could be overwritten with copies of text from Richard Stallman saying “first post!” Over and over.

That would ignore the fishery though.

I’ve got some devices I’ve been fast charging for 8 years; it seems to be more of a problem as the device ages; but that’s offset by having it ready to use again quickly.

And this isn’t going to stop just because some democrats agreed to abandon Obamacare. Those controllers are permanently retired.

I doubt it. ESL readers sometimes have a better grasp of English grammar in general but can miss minor nuances that make a turn of phrase obvious to a native speaker but confounding to anyone else.

Depends what you mean by ‘learned’ — my grandparents talked about their time fighting the fascists from the time I was born.

A TLD is just a name. For my own local network, I use all sorts of TLDs, and 20 years ago I used FreeDNS which let me register my own TLD for free.
What’s different on official Internet TLDs is that there’s a n organization that manages the “official” TLDs, and to register a domain name you have to pay money to one of their representatives to claim exclusive access to a domain name.
Different TLDs within that structure are owned by different entities and have their own restrictions as to who can claim sole use of a domain and how.
But there are now a bunch of newish TLDs that have been sold to raise money for the org as a whole, and their owners can charge whatever they want to register a domain on them.

The layoffs are usually due to a race to meet quarterly projections; when the projections slip, the fastest way to match them again is layoffs. And for companies to keep their stock prices up, quarterly numbers have to keep climbing.
You’re probably right, but steganography with FEC should be enough to do the job; any predictive text errors would be caught with the checksumming.
After all, Phil Zimmerman got the entirety of the PGP source code from the US to Germany as a book. OCR combined with predictive text reconstruction has come a LONG way since then. The big problem today with OCR is that it often corrects errors that were present in the original document.
