Many comments I see from other instances are mainly complaining of you guys being the former (tankies) on the first bullet, saying you are basically just like the far-right, just on the opposite side. The other complaint is that all they see when they engage with you guys are memes and shitpost gifs, and that it doesn’t contribute to the conversation. I know that’s not everything, as I do see serious discussions on my feed from time to time, but is the shitposting and trolling done on purpose to antagonize other instances?

many posts have been made on this forum as well about toning down the shitposting and trolling on other instances, and a few mods have made similar posts as well i believe. Usually the people who are complaining about it the most are bad faith posters or bigots that are getting dog pilled, but our mods are aware about the large amount of trolling and want our users to play nice, although moderation of our users on other instances is being left up to their mods.

Thank you. I admittedly was one of those people who found it obnoxious to open an interesting post to read, only to be flooded with a bunch of large emotes and gifs that it made me leave the thread without even reading them…unless that is the intention. I also just learned (although not sure if true) that apparently those emotes/gifs are only comically large when viewed from other instances, instead of the regular sized versions you see on your instance; which I guess contributes to why some people hate them.

I understand it gets frustrating to write a lengthy and proper response only to be met with a close-minded reply that disregards every point you made without a proper argument; but IMO responding with even more obnoxious trolling to “dunk” on them just makes it worse, especially from someone looking in from the outside. Just my opinion of course. For me, I would probably just respond with a short sentence that they aren’t responding in good faith and continuing the conversation is of no use, then leave. But I guess once the emote sizes are fixed it won’t be as bad.
