I wouldn’t even say it looks like DS3, it’s got its own style although I guess it has some of the more BLoodborne/Dark Souls 3* gothic elements. I wouldn’t mind remakes like it if they substantially changed gameplay, etc. along with it like how FF7 Remake did it 'cause then it’s easier to argue for why the original game can’t be displaced but I know 99% of people are going to play the Demon remake now with its bizarre aesthetic changes of bosses that tweak things in ways I think are always for the worse outside visual clarity/performance.
Very slowly seeing the Souls community realize that the original DS2 release is actually better was been kinda’ gratifying to me at least. Steam reviews for it all mention the original had better and more meaningful enemy placement, etc. etc.
Too bad most people say “play the new thing with the most content” without looking at the actual quality of the thing. Very consumer-brained.
It just has the same dark fantasy aesthetics IMO as those two games, no it doesn’t look exactly like them, but It skews closer to those titles than the original demon souls. Which Is fine with me, but I’m not knocking you for not liking it.
Just for me personally it was the reason I bought a PS5 and was a 9.5 game for me.
