I'm not sure when this was filmed.. I visited Russia several time on productions. Coming from LA LA Land (USA) I was amazed by the condition of the country... The people are some of the most hard-working, industrious, talented you will ever find. But they are in a system where you're not rewarded for their hard work... I hope it's much better now!
This reminded me of how every few years reddit gets flooded with a ton of those “person from communist country experiences a grocery store in the US” threads. Some of them are so hilariously fake too like no picture/video or anything just some text “my grandpa escaped communism and the first time he walked into a Vons he fell to his knees and wept upon seeing all the pringles flavors” or some shit
