i can’t even imagine the thought process.

“you better vote for us or else we’ll let the other guy do even more genocide!!!”

    ???

maybe this is going too far but it honestly surprises me americans don’t assassinate their politicians more often

Holy shit, dude. I legit can’t believe they’re actually making this argument. I understand it’s the best thing that they can say, but if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better to just not say it, and focus on other stuff? I know they’re doing that, too, but to go here at all… Jesus. It looks so bad, even for them.

    Fixed

Bro, the same number of people who are going to get killed regardless of which option you chose.

No, it’s different - see under Biden they’re going to get killed at a slower rate so it’s going to feel like it’s the more acceptable of the two options.

But the same number of people are going to die!!

You people are so unwilling to come to a reasonable compromise. No wonder we’re never going to make any progress in this country when there’s people like you who make unrealistic demands of the Democratic party. Don’t you understand that Trump is worse?

gonna make a comment that doesn’t call for illegal-to-say

    comments

If you are a liberal or progressive who plans not to vote in November over the Biden administration’s support of Israel in the Gaza conflict, you are a fucking moron. Abstaining from voting is the same as handing Trump your vote, because I guarantee conservatives won’t miss this election for the world.

    :ole-reliable: vote

(we should get an ole reliable emote)

Biden is trying to pump the brakes, trump will encourage them to wipe out palestine.\

do liberals actually think this? like they actually think biden saying “they gotta stop!” and then sending in another shipment of bombs counts as him “pump(ing) the breaks”?

Heres the thing, bidens foot is nowhere near the brakes. Hes in the passenger seat at best. Bibi is the one driving, and biden is telling him to slow down. Biden is no more capable of controlling Israel than the EU is, but you dont see people yelling at them for it.

Now people want to replace biden with trump, who would challenge netanyahu to floor it or no balls.

    they actually think this, huh?

May someone EILI5 why this is the hill that so many, particularly young “progressives” wish to die on?

It seems like if there ever was a “both-sides” topic, this is the one. Why are they willing to accept what the other alternative (a Trump presidency) will be like but not accept the lesser of the two evils (a Biden presidency)?

liberals can’t understand being anti-genocide unless it’s explained to them as if they were a toddler.

According to noted philosopher The Good Place, the correct answer is to throw yourself in front of the trolley.

so-true it’s just like my treats!!!

“I’m against genocide” says the genocide supporters who will let Trump genocide Palestinians, Ukrainians, Taiwanese, American Muslims, LGBTQ+ Americans, Jewish Americans, Immigrants, and many, many others.

and democrats will stand gleefully by and watch it happen, right?

You’re missing about 29,999 bodies on bidens track

They just make stuff up. Trump is going to genocide… Taiwanese people? The worse their guy gets, the worse his opponent must be or else their guy would be bad (impossible).

I think the genocide supporters are the people voting for the war criminal responsible for committing genocide, actually

Isn’t this just the trolley problem reimagined? The correct action would be for Biden to jerk the wheel of the tortured metaphor of a car into a grove of very solid trees, so the “car” doesn’t kill another 40,000 innocents

I don’t even buy the implied argument that trump will kill more. Maybe. Not like he’s a friend of Palestine. But Biden is the one currently actively sending weapons. Often even when other ghouls in the legislature don’t want to. And he’s been an avowed Zionist his whole Career. Definitely not seen compelling evidence or proof that trump would be worse in anyway

This is the thing that pisses me off about libs. They focus on the hypothetical of how much worse it would be under Trump, but ignore the fact that Biden is the president RIGHT THE FUCK NOW and doesn’t do a thing to stop the genocide.

Before I caught my last reddit-logo ban, I just started replying to those people with a wall of text that went something like this:

“That thing you’re worrying about trump doing is happening right now. Under Biden. Biden is doing it. Today. Right now. Not hypothetically, but actually, and there are no signs of stopping. Biden is sending weapons right now not trump. The thing you’re worried about trump doing is already happening with Biden in the white house. Right now. He’s doing it. Not trump. Trump won’t make it worse because it’s already on track to be as bad as it can get. Right now. With Biden in command. Today…”

And so on and on and on. I make it tedious to read, but keep it civil enough to not get reported. It was generally met with positive response by other r*dditors

There’s nothing they hate so much as fucking peasants having the nerve to think we can and should exert political pressure on the political class.

The idea that we think we might have a role in politics beyond casting a vote is such an anathema to them that many can’t even conceive of it as a possibility (so they treat is as apathy; we don’t care and would let Trump win) or they can conceive of it and seeing us try gives them cognitive dissonance which makes them hate us.

Either way they will hate us for being principled activists. There’s no other way for them to see us.

IS this pressure on the DNC? They seem to enjoy being the minority party because it gives them something to do which doesn’t involve actually creating policy.
