    I’d argue as the kids’ needs are being met regardless of chores the return on those chores is purely or surplus value. Thus it would be exploitation to have them do chores without compensation, but it’s not unfair to have them work in equal relative difficulty for the same wages. To have an accurate coup, the dad’s friend is probably working for the CIA and will soon kidnap and murder him. Then he will marry his friend’s widow.

      Hmm you’re really giving me some food for thought there. Instead of allowance as wages, why not as reward for contributing to collective☭, ehem, common good?

      You know, like being a responsible citizen?

      But, eh, it’s not like I am planning to have kids anyway 😛
