So the idea is that if all the trees are male then no fruit, no mess. But male trees produce loads of pollen. And the same effect could have happened if we planted all female trees but the pollen would be so much less. Or, you know, plant fruiting trees an encourage people to eat the bounty of nature. But no, that doesn’t help producers sell fruit. Can’t have that.
