I wouldn’t have done the same, and clearly, neither would you. But it doesn’t make his decision dim. Real life is far more nuanced than your pedestrian analysis.

That the rest of the world would do nothing. Hell Russia has since pushed the boundaries much further with no recourse. I can respect that he’s principled and still recognize the total lack of forethought in the move.
