I work in tech as well and can still barely afford most of the rent prices I see here. It’s horrible.

Also like this when it’s someone using wayyyy too many words to describe something they want done. Conversational blueballs when someone asks me, for (exaggerated) example, to take out the trash by saying “hey so you know we have these bins in our house that hold trash and that’s where we put all the trash and the trash eventually piles up and we have to do this weekly ritual where we take the trash and put it into bags and move it to the bins outside so that someone can come collect it and then we can put more trash in the bags so what I’m really trying to say is can you open the door and go grab the trash bins because that’s how you take out the trash right you just grab the trash and walk it outside and put it—“

PLEASE stop talking you could have just said “can you take the trash out?”

Their brand of humor isn’t particularly my flavor, but blocking things I disagree with isn’t something I care for, unless it’s something outright abominable.

It seems the overall sentiment of hexbear isn’t malicious, and so I don’t think we should pass judgment on an entire instance just because of some outliers.

There are people on other instances that even suggest lemm.ee users are tankies, communists, or nazis, so I don’t doubt that there’s a spread of vitriol anywhere you go. Doubly so because of the nature of federation; our blocking policy has likely led to more than a few alternate accounts being created here by users to bypass being defederated from their preferred trolling destinations.

With that said, I agree with your sentiment about judging the moderation response, and am in favor of staying federated with them for now.

Update them if your UI has significantly changed or does not adequately represent the final product.

If having a light/dark theme is an important feature or highly requested feature for your project, it would be nice to show it off.

Screenshots can, most of the time, get away with showing just the default configuration. Share what a user would see when opening your project for the first time, and assume they used the default configuration. Optionally, if you offer a lot of customization, show what it could look like if someone spent a good amount of time personalizing things!
