This reply isn’t going to be helpful to OP, but thought I might add context for others passing by.
I’m using Arch Linux with LUKS encryption and gdm. As long as my user’s password is the same as the LUKS password, I only ever type my password in once.
Just saying that a MacOS-like convenience is definitely possible on Linux.
Hmm, I feel like there’s some nuances around Hyprland (and it’s kind of window managers) that makes having a place for discussion valuable.
I’m not a hyprland user, but I find it valuable to lurk around SwayWM communities on Discord and Reddit.

It’s more like an analogue for QMK (custom keyboard firmware) than reWASD though with features oriented towards rearranging, layers, etc. But it can do more than that, too.
Also it works on Xorg, Windows and macOS too.
