When I need to increase the resolution, I usually load the generated art into AI upscalers and apply sharper filters

ujeenator@lemm.eeOPto Late Stage Capitalism@lemmy.world•Our current economic systems require infinite growth in a finite system. In cellular biology, this is known as ‘cancer.’2·2 months agoSo, can someone tell us about an economic system that does not require unending growth?
Literally any local business in a town (if it hasn’t yet been absorbed by large, country-wide companies)
I keep telling people SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES in your area, not the big companies

Oh no, you can’t, because all of them are focused on infinitely squeezing customers and workers to grow revenue.

ujeenator@lemm.eeOPto Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Why doesn't the capitalist economy invest in cheap renewable energy?2·2 months agobut has a blind spot in how it can be gamed if a few large companies conspire in keeping the electricity a mix.
Interesting, thank you for insights, is there anybody on youtube or podcasts who provide any analysis on this topic for EU?
As a result electricity prices for private and industrial consumers are high
Does that mean, that it may be cheaper for them in advance, to build their own solar plant + large energy storage? e.g. with 3-5 years ROI
ujeenator@lemm.eeOPto Green Energy@slrpnk.net•China renewables capacity additions soared in 2023, growing more than four times faster than the G7266·2 months agoChina the enemy though, right?
Their success in renewable energy doesn’t change the reality that China continues to disregard human rights, democracy, and freedom of speech.
So we can give credit for the renewable energy progress, maybe copy few ideas, but that’s about it.
ujeenator@lemm.eeOPto Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Why doesn't the capitalist economy invest in cheap renewable energy?4·2 months agoDid you actually listen to the video? They explicitly mention that capitalist countries do subsidize renewable energy, but it’s unreliable due to political fluctuations. Subsidies can be abruptly discontinued with a change in administration (e.g. like new US administration cuts funding). The main point of the video is the investment behavior of energy companies regarding renewable energy, and why, from a Return on Investment perspective, renewables are still not competitive.
