Easiest solution for you would be an external amplifier, they come in all sizes and price points, and let you turn up the volume as much as you want.

Of course Apple cares about their customer satisfaction. Having satisfied return customers made them the most valuable company on the planet. Phones die when they request more power from the battery than it can provide. Go into battery saver mode and reduce your screen brightness.

Also, simply charge your phone. If you want to preserve battery life, always charge when you are under 20%. Letting your phone die is a bad habbit.

I like your question. I think it has a lot to do with user psychology. Users usually do not know what they want, they want an automatic solution without hassle, but at the same time want to feel in control. So Apple gives them a processed image out of camera, and then you can process it a bit more if you want.

That is Apple’s approach to software for many questions, they develop something simply that satisfies 90%+ of users, and if you want something different there are many alternative camera apps in the AppStore.
