This is a guerrilla marketing post for a gaming handheld.

For an incidental integration, I’d have to say it’s not bad.

It’s an interesting concept to discuss, but I don’t see a problem in grafting a photo-only community over activitypub.

It beats the alternative of having Instagram remain the dominant player. I mean if you only want to see pictures, you won’t sign up for a service like Mastodon that will serve you text instead.

And I don’t see any need to add a default picture to every post just to get to these people. Let them see their photos if that’s what they want.

It’s still more users for the fediverse and I don’t really see a better way to implement this. Let people enjoy themselves on the fediverse in the way they see fit.

There should be a game where people battle each other using their favorite IDE. The game gives you some programming task and whoever completes it quicker using their favorite IDE wins. We can battle VScode vs EMACS vs VI vs visual studio and see which IDE comes out as the final champion.

What if you give it correctly but you aren’t at home? We have had a lot of false alarms from failing sensors or curtains blowing in the wind, etc.

Also I don’t trust that the police would respond to such an alarm in a timely manner.

First of all, those monitoring companies (at least where I live), send their own person, not the police. Maybe they call the police if they see that a break in is happening but first they check it out themselves first.

So really you’d have to send yourself a notification (on iOS they have the emergency ones that always go through and loudly ring on your phone). Then you’d have to check it out yourself.

Calling the police automatically every time sounds like a bad idea and I don’t have trust they’d come in a timely manner if at all. At least with my system it would have been like 50 false alarms and no real alarms to the police over the last 15 years.

Who knows. I don’t think they’d be able to tell if they were armed while they were in the air. But at least would give them something to think about and show them that we aren’t just going to sit down and take it:
