Im a different flavor of communist than the folks you see on hexbear and grad. Not a stan of DPRK or China. Not fond of the later years of the USSR. I don’t support modern day Russia in any conflicts it’s involved in either.

The way these people act in their day to day life has virtually nothing to do with their position on historical events.

Here in the US i’ve been told about people being forced to walk on hot coals and having lighters burn the palm of their hand as long as they can handle. Kids have literally killed themselves at these camps. Fuck the idea they should just be illegal, any parent that puts their kid through this should get 10-15 in prison.

Just want to say that a large amount of users on lemmygrad and hexbear have complained about this. This post was even added to the slop community on hexbear because, believe it or not, hexbear does care about transphobia. He was called out 8-9 months ago too. As far as I know he is banned from hexbear, but I might be mistaken.

Most ML parties in the US I’ve interacted with have been pro trans. CPUSA, PSL, FRSO, APL, (to name a few) are all supportive of trans people.

I feel like we’ve been here before

I’ve noticed over time less and less work is focused on the average person learning about a subject and instead its written to impress academic peers and this doesn’t just apply to history. There are always going to be times where a subject is just too difficult to grasp for a layman ofc, but most of the time the problem is overly academic language that doesn’t add to the subject at all.
