What a senseless waste of life. And I bet all of these completely avoidable and totally unnecessary tragedies make excellent recruitment propaganda for the likes of Hamas.

“Everyone’s saying it.”
Agreed, if not for the presumption of innocence.
I’m not sure if I feel strongly enough about it to have a consequential opinion either way but I’m trying to at least judge the situation objectively.
I think you raised a valid point. The non-consensual nature of deepfakes pushes it into the realm of abuse material and maybe that’s worse overall than the general exploitation of women going on in the adult film industry, even if those are supposed to be “consensual” on paper.
That’s the part I was alluding to as being worse
Deepfake pornography is super goony but if I had to look for a silver lining, at least nobody had to undergo the actual physical degradation of making porn. It’s still gross in its own way, but it’s a different kind of gross that seems worse in some ways but better in others.
I don’t know… Am I off base here?
I did the same a month ago… Still no regrets.
cool tip, i didn’t know about this either but it’s awesome!
Blu makes some decent phones for pretty cheap. I used the Bold N1 for quite a while. I believe the Bold N2 is out now but I’ve admittedly moved onto a Pixel since I’ve had the budget for it.
DDG isn’t the paragon of privacy. Try Qwant or StartPage.

Those Broadcom wireless cards gave me PTSD. The only way I got one of them working was compiling the raw firmware blobs into my kernel on a Gentoo stage 3 install… I shutter imagining administering that system as my daily driver. It was a good learning experience but I’m not cut out for that level of effort just to surf the web, open some documents, and play DOOM.
It’s easy to fall into communities like these because the advice they offer seems plausible on it’s face. At least you can acknowledge that it’s not working out for you so that you can move on.
We’ve all had to learn some lessons the hard way in life. Don’t let the sunken cost fallacy deceive you into dragging things out further. Cut your losses and run.
Write it off as a capital loss and a lesson learned… Good luck.
A lot of firefighters are volunteers. I have no idea about this case but maybe they would try to use that as a defense, if so.
Side note, it’s utterly baffling that such an essential function basically runs off of charity. What a joke.
Great film, happy to see it made available to such a wide audience. This and The Professional (also by Luc Besson) both had Born Sexy Yesterday vibes, but Fifth Element gets more of a pass because Leeloo is some ageless mythical being, while Mathilda was an actual child. Both are still high quality movies and personal favorites, but that might turn some people off from them.
Fellow IT guy here, I absolutely hate working from the office. Home life is my life and work life only matters to me insofar as it’s necessary to my home life.
Anything taking my brain from home mode to work mode is an obstacle that should be avoided.
