Every time there is a sucky team with a mediocre head coach we need to pull the specter of Jim Harbaugh out.
Personally I highly doubt Harbaugh wants to leave Michigan now that he has them so close to a national championship. And for what? To coach the Bears? Maybe if the Bears looked like they were on the verge of success, but the Bears look like they are on the verge of being this bad for a while.
The worst thing about Sean Taylor was the narrative after he died. So many people in the DMV somehow blamed him for it. I literally heard people saying “well of course he ended up like that, you know the sort of person he was.” He was killed in a home invasion by someone he didn’t even know…
I worry about minor league baseball sometimes. It’s so integral to the survival of the sport but I have no idea how these teams survive. But maybe that’s because I grew up in a town with a minor league team that was only an hour away from a major league team so we commuted to the city for major league games all the time.
I think he’s obviously worse without Brady. But Brady was the best of all time. And BB won SO much with him. Compare them to the other best QBs of all time and it’s pretty obvious that BB is a fantastic coach. Look at Dan Marino or Payton Manning. They were just as talented as Brady and they were much less successful.
I think what is happening is BB is in the twilight of his career. It happens to all the best coaches. And for whatever reason people are using it to disparage his whole career.
Personally I think he should have retired when Brady left and just let the question hang and the Pats move on to a new era fully.
People are jumping on the narrative, but Metlife literally changed their turf in the offseason. It’s the same one used in Detroit and Atlanta. Nobody complains about those.
The issue is that athletes go so hard nowadays and their bodies can’t handle it. If you watched the broadcast, they literally mentioned that Phillips had actually retired due to injuries in college before deciding to come back. But people want to blame the turf? Metlife has not had nearly the amount of non-contact injuries it had in the past. It’s just easy to blame the turf because people don’t want to think about whether athletes are going too hard these days.
