He absolutely did not fail in Cleveland. He spent 92 and 93 rebuilding a team that had bottomed out, won a playoff game in 94, and was very much in the playoff hunt at 4-4 going into the weekend that Modell announced he was moving the team to Baltimore. They went 1-6 after that announcement.

Saying this as a high school teacher, the worst teachers I’ve ever worked with are the ones who had PhD’s in their field. They are such experts in their content that they can’t possibly relate (or explain) to students who struggle with what they consider basic.

So the particular play he’s pissed over was because the dolphins had multiple men in motion, and one of them didn’t set before the snap (illegal shift). Aside from that, Miami has been getting away with motion towards the line at the snap all day long.
