Yup, that’s pretty much spot on. I don’t really have a problem with .world myself. I do hear a lot of complaints about admin powertrips, but I’ve never used .world so I have not experienced this myself.
Oh no, you!

It’s a combination of tankies and some more level headed leftists. They do have a decent proportion of OK users and the occasional decent meme, but the frequent genocide denialism and too many tankies have resulted in a lot of blocks and bans.
I have 4 kids, two cats, and a house with someone I used to think was long gone from my life; We accidentally ran into each other again while I was visiting the old country, and then a volcano caused me to stay for a week extra, and old sparks began to reignite.
Also, my career for the past 15 years has been in an industry I hadn’t heard of before, all because I applied to something “different”, just to see. I didn’t meet any of the educational requirements, I didn’t know what the job was about, the job interview didn’t go particularly well (not poorly either, though), but somehow they hired me out of a stack of 200 interviewees.
“Puke crater” alone describes the magnitude.
Revenue, not income. Income and profits are too easy to hide.
“Death panels”. Yeah, I remember when that was the talking point some 15 years ago and I wondered how that didn’t apply to insurance companies. It made me glad I lived in Glen Becks definition of “socialist hellscape” - Scandinavia.
I have no idea how to answer your question, I just want to point out something you hinted at, intentionally or not: The UHC CEO and other ghouls like him have killed more Americans than Bin Laden could ever dream of. Hell, I think even Adolf would be impressed.
I’m fine with communists of various flavors, even though I personally disagree with it as a political system. Hell, if the current system isn’t working, and someone promises you all the potatoes you can drink, of course they’re going to attract a lot of supporters.
But just because something or someone is in opposition to the status quo, doesn’t mean they’re better. That’s where tankies come in - I see too much idiocy coming from that camp that communists are getting a bad reputation because of them. Stalin was a benevolent head of state, Beria did nothing wrong, North Korea is a worker’s paradise, etc. Oh, and of course some claim an anti-colonialist stance while having no answers to what happened in Afghanistan in the 70’s, eastern Poland in 39, and Finland in 39-40, Tibet in 51, etc

As a gringo who had to buy electronics in Brazil a few times, I’m afraid that dollar exchange rate isn’t the main problem - Brazilian import taxes and tariffs are.
I spent the better part of 2009 through 2011 trying to get spare parts into the country, and customs was always the biggest hurdle. And sourcing things locally was ridiculously expensive.
So to anyone still not convinced that tariffs are a bad idea: Try buying consumer electronics in Brazil.
As a european tax payer, I’m all for doubling the aid, regardless of what USA does.

So much for people still believing his drain-the-swamp-rhetoric.
Hell, this guy thought the swamp was a threatened habitat, and decided to repopulate it with additional species.
Yeah, that’s the main downside to this: the rebels involve sub-factions of, amongst others, Al Quaeda, and I don’t think having them in charge would be an upgrade.
However, considering the diverse coalition of the ones fighting against Assad at this point, I suspect that Assads replacement would succumb to infighting.
Can someone give me a quick tldr in who/what Screen Slate is?
No. NK has a bunch of artillery hidden in the forested mountains just north of the border. And and SK has a lot of population centers within within firing distance. And this includes rockets/missiles with some rather spicy warheads.
And rough terrain ensures that a quick blitz to topple the government and their nuclear arsenal won’t work.
Sure, NK will not be able to hold off SK in the long run, especially if SK invites friends. But Seoul will be leveled.
Plus, China really does not want a US ally on its border, and are likely to intervene.

I have an ISA soundcard around here somewhere.
Is this the “woke” that conservatives are complaining about?
I would think so? Unless it has in it some of that weird archea that normally live around 200º undersea vents… I’m sure they’d find your tea to be quite a nippy environment.
