Bonsoir, Elliot.
Johannes@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•Finally, a Linux laptop with a brilliant display and performance that rivals my MacBook (from Germany)English26·20 days agoHey, I just got this Laptop for my new job after using an X230 and Retina MacBook Pro for years, nice to see it on Lemmy!
The display, case, trackpad and Linux support is top notch. The keyboard layout is a little weird though. Would anyone be interested in a longer review on my blog?

Yup. A certain flying squid comes to mind.
I believe that the topmost (M1?) MacBook still has a headphone Jack on the other (right-hand) side.
PS: by no means am I an apple fanboy, but I inherited an old Retina MacBook Pro that I installed Linux on and now use as my daily driver. It still holds up extremely well considering it’s 11 years old. The only ports it’s really missing is an RJ45 and (nowadays) USB-C.

You’re comparing apples and oranges if you focus on immutabilty alone.
EndlessOS may certainly cater to the idea of being user-friendly but unbreakable, but I would consider NixOS to be an advanced distro.
