I move back and forth between the standards. My laptop and 75% mechanical are ANSI, my work laptop and Bluetooth keyboard are ISO.
You’d be surprised how quickly you get used to switching between them.

Unfortunately, you violated the law slightly by asking a question!
Cunningham’s Law states “the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it’s to post the wrong answer.”
I think you’re underestimating the intelligence of average people. There’s definitely a lack of knowledge, but average people are plenty smart to invent everything you’ve listed. It just takes time and is an iterative process.
I guess that’s the part where it screeches and wails like a banshee for about ten minutes?
Whoa whoa whoa, I’m not THAT depraved!
Double-spacing was taught into me when I was taught typing and I’m never stopping!
Damn, I’m glad you made this comment as that is an amazing gif!
Definitely yes, but like all philosophies your understanding will develop as you age and your perspective changes.
Consider the book Happy by Deren Brown. It’s a great summary of Ancient philosophies and then a good ‘entry level’ introduction to Stoicism.
Be careful with the cable tension barrel adjuster. As you turn it, watch the brake caliper: is there is any movement, stop turning the caliper and back off.
It should only be used to remove slack in the cable on installation - it shouldn’t be used to adjust the brakes.
This is because a disc brake caliper only has a few mm of travel. So if use of the barrel adjuster “removes” 1mm of that travel, you end up with far less modulation available.
I’m slightly confused by the phrase “get back into crumpets” - you fell out of love with them? That’s like falling out of love with breathing!
I mean, they have their flaws and show their age a bit. But fundamentally, they’re still very enjoyable sci-fi with entertaining characters and some great imagery.
I’m a big fan. I read Nights Dawn trilogy as a young teen and absolutely loved it. Recently re-read it and really enjoyed it , again.
Doing God’s work, friend.
Doesn’t look like it!
This is the community I’ve been looking for! Thanks!
I can’t help but love flip phones, but definitely wouldn’t go near the folding-screen variety for a lot of generations. I hope one day to have something as robust as the old dumbphones.
For some reason, I appreciate that you’re not working towards one specific word from the start but slowly narrowing down the “available words” until one fits.
Very much so - it’s why I came into the comments.
